For dairies and milk rounds

Run your milk round without the 6am calls.

Sound familiar

You start work before the sun, and so does the phone.

A milk round is a good business built on small, fiddly things. Most of the trouble is not the milk. It is everything around it: the changes, the bottles, the cash tin, and the customers who quietly fall behind.

The morning changes.

“No milk tomorrow, we are away.” A dozen of those before dawn, and one you miss is a bottle poured for nothing.

Bottles everywhere.

Deposits taken, empties out, empties back. Tracked on paper until nobody is sure who is holding what.

The cash tin.

Money collected at doorsteps, counted late at night, never quite matching what the book says.

The slow debt.

A customer is three weeks behind and you did not notice until it stung.

How Lanemi helps

The round stays. The chaos goes.

Customers run their own milk.

Daily, alternate days or weekdays only, your customers set the pattern themselves. When they travel, they pause. When they want a day off, they skip. Your mornings go quiet.

Bottle deposits that add up.

Take a deposit on the first bottle, swap on every round, and refund on return. Every bottle is counted against the right customer and written straight into your books. Lost or broken ones are handled too.

Prepaid, so nobody owes you.

Customers top up a wallet, by UPI or card through your own payment account or with cash at the door, and you deliver against a balance you can see. When a balance runs low they get a reminder on their phone, so the milk never just stops. Households that prefer a monthly bill can run on an account instead, with a statement that adds itself up.

A round that sorts itself.

Runsheets order your stops by building, floor and flat, or in your own order for scattered homes. Print it the night before, and a five in the morning network drop cannot stop you.

Books that balance every hour.

Every collection, deposit and delivery is written down twice and never edited. An automatic check confirms it all balances to zero, so a mistake surfaces the same day, not at the year’s end.

We started on a milk round of our own

Built by people who deliver.

Lanemi began on our own farm, taking free-range eggs and fresh milk to homes nearby. We built this because nothing on offer fit a real round. We still deliver with it every morning, which is the best test we know.

Read our story

The things dairies ask us first.

Can I handle glass bottle deposits and returns?

Yes. Take a deposit on the first delivery, swap on each round, and refund on return. It is all counted per customer and written to your books, including bottles that go missing or break.

Can customers skip days when they travel?

Yes. They pause for a holiday or skip a single day from their own app, with no call to you.

Does it handle alternate-day or weekday-only milk?

Yes. Daily, chosen weekdays, alternate days or weekly, set per customer.

What about the cash my agent collects?

It is tracked from the doorstep through to your books and reconciled, with any shortage flagged for you.

I deliver morning and evening. Can it handle both?

Yes. Set up a morning run and an evening run as separate slots, each with its own cut-off, its own locked count and its own runsheet. A household can take milk in the morning and curd in the evening.

Some of my customers insist on paying monthly. Do they have to prepay?

No. Run them on a monthly account instead. Deliveries post to the account as they land, a statement goes out at month end, and anyone who falls behind is flagged for you. Prepaid and monthly customers sit on the same round and the same books.

What if the internet is down at 5am?

Confirm and print the runsheet the night before. Your agent finishes the round on paper and updates it later.

I sell eggs and curd too. Same round?

Yes. Add any product to the same round and the same subscription flow.

One good idea for your round, once a week.

Short, practical, and no filler. Leave any time.
